Every animal has a story to tell. Here are just a few of our rescue success stories.

DOROTHY OF PALMDALE

Dorothy was rescued from the Palmdale desert after she had been dumped on a rural dirt road. She was in horrific matted condition, wandering the road covered in wounds. J.J. Woofin’ Paws Rescue Agency rescued her and nursed her back to health.

Dorothy now named Abbey Road, with her brother and new parents.

TJ’S AMERICAN DREAM

T.J. was living on the streets of Tijuana, Mexico in horrific condition. J.J. Woofin’ Paws Rescue Agency rescued him in March 2013. After treating his broken leg, mange and Canine Venereal Tumors via chemotheraphy, TJ transformed into the happy, loving and healthy dog we knew was underneath all his suffering.

WOOKIE W. WOOFINPAWS, Esquire

Wookie when he was brought into the East Valley Shelter

Wookie was rescued from East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys after he had been picked up as a stray by animal control. He was horrifically matted and filthy, so bad off that the shelter could not even tell his breed or sex. It took the shelter workers 4 hours to shave him down, and once they did they discovered that he had subcutaneous emphysema (air under the skin) which was caused by blunt force trauma. We rescued him in May of 2012 from the shelter. Wookie was terrified of humans and being touched for the first several months after rescue, and had many fear aggression issues to be worked out, along with some unpredictable dog aggression. He blossomed over the course of 9 months and was adopted by a wonderful man who has given him the best life ever!
